    My path to teaching  Lagree began with a lupus diagnosis that made HIIT and cardio-heavy workouts feel unsustainable. I needed something that was safe for my joints, supportive of my health, and still truly effective. Lagree became that solution and changed my relationship with fitness. I became a teacher to spread the method and the knowledge of this incredible workout.

    Mindful movement has always been an intentional, non-negotiable part of my daily routine. However, what truly anchored it in my life were the instructors who pushed, motivated, and cared about me during each class I took. I was (and continue to be) impacted by the power of great instructors, which drove me to want to put that energy back out into the world by teaching classes myself. 

    I’ve also always loved being an instructor and sharing the things I’m passionate about (I also taught surf lessons for 7 years). To me, teaching fitness is more than just conducting a class. It is cultivating community connections, personal growth, and healthy habits for everyone in the room, which they can then carry with them throughout their week.

    I grew up as a competitive swimmer, and when I stopped, I had to rediscover how to move my body in ways that felt good, both mentally and physically. I tried everything from cardio-heavy and HIIT workouts, but over time I realized they weren’t supporting my body the way I needed. When I found strength training and soon Lagree, everything clicked. Lagree challenges me, builds strength, and supports longevity in a low-impact way, while also allowing me to tune into a strong mind–body connection—something I believe is especially important for women!

    Becoming an instructor felt natural to me. I’ve always valued teachers who remembered my name, offered hands-on adjustments, and truly believed in their clients’ potential. I strive to bring that same intention into every class by creating a welcoming space where clients feel supported, challenged, and excited to come back. That sense of community is what I love most about Lava, where instructors and clients uplift one another and surprise themselves every class!

    I became a Lagree instructor because I fell in love with the workout and was inspired by Lucy to get more out of this method. It never gets easier and that’s my favorite part of it all. Being able to lead a room filled with our amazing clients is so inspiring knowing it’s so much more to them than just a 45 minute workout.
